Tarpon
Our Texas Tarpon leader is one of our more specialized leaders, which uses the minimal approach to catch a trophy size tarpon. We use 150 pound test Hi-Seas platinum offshore leader material. We use an extra wide gap 12/0 Mustad Tarpon hook that is thin wired, extra strong, and super sharp to penetrate the boney jaw of the tarpon. Two options are available for connecting the leader to your line, a 330 pound Rosco swivel or a wind-on connection. The wind-on connection is Power Pro Hollowcore threaded over the main line, which is secured with flexible super glue and low temperature heat shrink.
